Top 10 Warriors In Indian History.

It is a matter of my good fortune that today I will tell you about some great warriors of the history of India through this article.

I will present their glory stories in front of all of you in this article. By the way, there have been many great rulers, emperors and warriors in our India. I will introduce some of them to you all today.

Chandra Gupta Mourya

The most important great emperor of the history of ancient India, Hindu ruler Chandragupta Maurya was born in Pataliputra Bihar in 340 BC. His guru was the great Acharya Chanakya. Once when Acharya Chanakya was walking some distance away from Takshila. Then in the forest he saw that some children were playing the game of King Praja. Then Acharya’s eyes fell on the child who became the king, he was leading all those children.

Then suddenly the tiger comes there. Then the child who became the king displayed his courage and talent, and took out the sword and stood in front of the tiger. The tiger went back from some distance. When Acharya Chanakya saw all this and asked him his name, that child told his name as Chandragupta Maurya, and that brave child told that I had become the king. So it was my duty to protect you all.

Acharya Chanakya started seeing the future of this brave child. Later this child became a student of Acharya Chanakya. Acharya gave this child the knowledge of weapons and scriptures and politics, culture. Later this child also defeated Dhanananda and Seleucus in the war. Chandragupta Maurya married Helena, the daughter of Seleucus. His first wife was Durdhara, they had a son named Bindusara. Helena was the second.

It is said that during his reign there was a severe famine in his kingdom. Due to which the scholars told that you have fought many wars in your life.  This is the result of your karma. Later the scholars resolved that you will go to the forest and meditate on your God. After some time he died in the same forest.

Emperor Ashoka

The great warrior, The world famous, mighty Indian Chakravati Emperor Ashoka was the 3rd king of the Maurya dynasty. He ruled Akhand India during his reign. Which is today’s India, Nepal, Bhutan, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Myanmar, Afghanistan.  He was given the title of Chakravarti Emperor.  Emperor Ashoka established universities like Nalanda, Taxila, Kandahar during his reign.

Ashoka also won the war of Kalinga. After this war, he saw how many people died in this war. Then he adopted Buddhism. Later on, Ashoka adopted the path of non-violence and gave up the war. He propagated Buddhism. 

The pillar which was built by Emperor Ashoka at Sarnath is the national symbol of India today. There are four lions in this pillar whose faces are in all the four directions. It also has a wheel which is a symbol of religion. Today Ashoka Chakra is in the national flag of India, it has 24 spleens.

Bappa Rawal

Born in the 8th century, a great, powerful, Mahakal devotee. Bappa won all the battles he fought in his life. Mohammed bin Qasim who was a king of Arabia. Who, with the help of his huge army, took possession of Sindh. The people there were exploited, women were sold, Brahmins were killed, temples were demolished.

The people of Sindh started leaving Sindh. A group reached Mewar. All those people told the whole situation to Bappa Rawal. How external aggressions broke the idols and temples of gods and goddesses in their country. Hearing this, Bappa got very angry. Bappa said in anger that someone should win our kilo, because of that only the heads of us Rajputs(warrior) bow down. But if someone harms on religion, then our nose is cut.

Bappa spoke of Har Har Mahadev and at the same time proceeded towards Sindh. One Rajput was heavier than ten enemy soldiers. Bappa won the fort of Sindh and drove Kasim away from there. And again hoisted the saffron flag over the whole of India and established Satya Sanatan Vedic.

Bappa Rawal gathered all the nearby Hindu kings and formed a great army. Then they all went to Arabia and defeated the kings there. He also defeated the Sultan of Ghazni. Later, the arrival of all these foreign enemies like Hindustan was like death. Because the Arab rulers by the name of Bappa Rawal were afraid to even look towards India. For the next 400 to 500 years, no outside king invaded India.From these we can guess, how was his valor and his courage. Such a great Hindu warrior should be worshipped. The city of Rawal Pindi in Pakistan is named after him.

Prithvi Raj Chauhan

The great Hindu emperor, warrior Prithvi Raj Chauhan was born in 1149. He ruled the North West part. His father’s name is Raja Someshwar and mother’s name is Rani Karpura Devi. His wife’s name was Sanyogita. Since childhood, Chauhan had the qualities of a skilled warrior. He was so powerful that once he had killed a lion without a weapon. He was very talented. He had knowledge of many languages. He knew how to shoot slang. 

It is believed that Chauhan got the knowledge of firing the word-blade arrow from the warrior Ashwathama of Mahabharata period.  He was also adept at controlling horses and elephants. Chauhan had defeated Gauri 17 times. He would forgive them. But Gauri, showing trickery and with the help of Raja Jaichand, imprisoned him by deceit. And took with him his kingdom which is today’s Afghanistan. Taking him there gave him a lot of pain. He put hot iron rods in his eyes.

When Gauri asked his friend for his last wish, his friend told that he is an expert in shooting slang arrows, you should give him a chance to perform his art. When Chauhan was performing his art, Gauri was also present there. As soon as he got the signal of his friend, he fired the arrow. Gauri said yes and the arrow hit his neck, she died at the same time. After some time Chauhan also died at the same place in 1192.

Maharana Kumbha

Maharana Kumbha was an ardent Shiva devotee who was born in the early 15th century. This great warrior had knowledge of Veda Purana, Bhagwat Geeta and other cultural and literary knowledge. People believe that his height was around 9 feet. 

He had built 32 forts during his lifetime. In which there were other forts like Chittorgarh, Kumbalgarh and others. He was a devotee of Shiva, so he also got many Shivlings constructed. He won many wars like Nagaur, Jawar, Sarangpur. In 1437, he also defeated Sultan Mahmud Khilji of Malwa. After this victory, he built the Victory Pillar of Chittor. Mewar expanded a lot during his time. 

Which part of today’s Rajasthan, Gujarat and Delhi used to come in Mewar. Mewar had become a great state. He had a huge body and strong arms. Kumbha used to be victorious in the war, but he was also known for his cultural work. He built many temples, forts, ponds etc. The second largest wall in the world is in Kumbhalgarh, India. Maharana Pratap the great Hindu Rajput warrior was born in the Sisodia dynasty of Mewar in 1540. His father’s name was Maharana Udai Singh and mother’s name was Maharani Jywantabai. The Mughal emperor Akbar wanted to annex Mewar to his empire. But with Maharana Pratap this could not have happened.

 Akbar tried a lot but failed. Because Maharana Pratap did not accept anyone’s subordination. As a result, the battle of Haldighati took place in the future. Maharana Pratap fought a war with Mewari and Bhili soldiers. The number of Rajput soldiers was not much, yet together with their king, they displayed their bravery and valor in the war In the war, Akbar also sent his giant-bodied general, Bahlol Khan. He killed many soldiers of Rajput army. Then he encounters Maharana Pratap. For some time the fight continued like this, then Maharana Pratap got angry and he cut Bahlol Khan in the middle with his horse.

 In that war he also lost his horse Chetak, whom he loved like his own son. Historians believe that no one won the war. But, despite being in small numbers, Rajputs had destroyed the Mughal army. Maharana Pratap had said that even after being hungry and thirsty, I will protect Mewar. I will give my life but not Mewar. Akbar tried a lot but never succeeded. That’s why it is said that Akbar never won and Maharana Pratap never lost.

Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj

The father of the Indian Navy, Great warrior Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj was born in 1630. His father’s name was Shahji Bhosale and mother’s name was Jijabai. Since childhood, Shivaji was interested in politics and war. 

Mother Jijabai used to narrate Ramayana, Mahabharata, Geeta and other mythological stories to her since childhood. From that time on he acquired leadership qualities. After some time and went to Malwa, he saw the people there, they were very courageous, powerful. 

Shivaji led all those people and explained to them that we have to be free from this slavery. We do not accept the subjugation of any Nizam, Mughal. In 1659, when Shivaji’s enmity with Adilshah was going on. Then Adilshah sent his most powerful, dreaded general Afzal Khan to kill Shivaji.

Afzal Khan made a plan. He knew Shivaji Maharaj was an honest person. Afzal sent a proposal to Shivaji, in which he said that I want to make a treaty with you. Will you meet me alone without any weapons? 

Shivaji accepted that offer and went to meet him. Afzal then took out a dagger while hugging him and hit Shivaji in the waist. But nothing happened to Shivaji Maharaj as he was already prepared. He was wearing an iron jacket on which the knife-dagger has no effect. Shivaji was honest and prepared. Shivaji wore a singhnk in his hand as sharp as a tiger’s claw. By which he killed Afzal Khan, and conquered Pratapgarh. 

During his time, the respect of women increased, happiness and prosperity came in the public. Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj died in 1680 due to deteriorating health.

Guru Gobind Singh

Our great Sikh warrior respected Guru Gobind Singh was born in 1666. His father was the great Sikh Guru Tegh Bahadur and his mother’s name was Mata Gujri. Aurangzeb had Guru Tegh Bahadur assassinated in Chandni Chowk, Delhi. Guru Gobind also had knowledge of Sanskrit. He was also a writer.Through his articles, he used to give the message of virtue, brotherhood and love in the society. 

He wanted to bring the feeling of love by ending the feeling of discrimination in the society. In 1676, Guru Gobind was declared the 10th Guru of the Sikhs. Guru Gobind had three wives. Mata Jeeto, Mata Sundari, and Mata Sahib Devan are all names.

Two sons of Guru Gobind (Zorawar Singh and Fateh Singh) were buried in the walls. Because he had refused to convert to religion. Battle of Chamkor of 1704, in this war 40 Sikhs fought with lakhs of Mughal soldiers under the leadership of Guru Gobind. All the Sikhs showed bravery.

  Two more sons of Guru Gobind died in this war. Ajit Singh and Jujhar Singh. During his reign, Guru Gobind Singh fought and won many wars.  1708 Great Sikh Guru Gobind Singh ji died.

Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj

Our great warrior Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj ,He was the second Chhatrapati of the Maratha Empire. He was born in 1657 Pune. His father was the great Hindu emperor Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. His mother died in his childhood, his grandmother Jijabai took care of him. 

His whole life was spent in struggle. He had knowledge of many languages. He was proficient in both weapons and scriptures. He was skilled in horse riding, archery, fencing and all kinds of warfare. He won more than 100 wars in his lifetime

After the death of Shivaji Maharaj, he tried to make his younger brother Rajaram the king but he failed. Then in 1681, the coronation of Shambhu Raje took place.

Sambhaji defeated the Portuguese in 1683. When he was going like Raigad after winning, the Mughal army of 5000 caught him by deceit. He and his friend Kavidas were imprisoned in jail. 

Aurangzeb got the tongues of both of them cut off. Took out the eye  He got his body cut to pieces and killed him in 1689. If he had renounced Hinduism and adopted Mughal religion, Aurangzeb would have left him. But Sambhaji Maharaj gave up his life but not religion. Sambhaji was indeed a great warrior.

Bajirao Peshwa

Bajirao Peshwa was born in 1700 in a Brahmin family. The sorrow of wielding sword and spear was from childhood. Coming to his youth, he also became proficient in horse riding and archery. Where children were busy playing in their childhood, Bajirao also showed interest in knowing the tactics related to war. When suddenly the father died.

Then at the age of 20 he was made Peshwa of the fourth Chhatrapati Shahuji Maharaj of the Maratha Empire. The only goal of Bajirao Peshwa became to expand and strengthen the Maratha Empire. The Peshwa spread the Maratha Empire over a large area.

When in 1728, Raja Chhatrasal of Bundelkhand was attacked by Mohammad Bangash Khan. Then Bajirao was busy in Malwa at that time but as soon as the request for help came. He reached out to their aid. With his clever mind and strategy, he won that war. And from there his love story with Mastani started. His first wife was Kashibai, and the second became Mastani. Kashibai had two sons, Nana Saheb and Raghunath Rao. Mastani had a son named Shamsher Bahadur.  In 1740, the great warrior Bajirao Peshwa died.

In the end, I would say to all of you that we all should live with love and brotherhood, without any discrimination. We cannot forget the guru-shishya pair Acharya Chanakya and Emperor Chandragupta Maurya. The loaves of grass that our Maharana Pratap ate in the forest.  We cannot forget that Chamkaur war, the sacrifice of the sons of Guru Gobind ji. We cannot forget Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj’s dream of Hindu Swaraj. Life struggle of Sambhaji Maharaj. Those who gave up their lives but did not compromise on religion. My heartfelt salute to such great warriors.
